A cast of mummers drawn from the wealth of British folk history, literature, art and legend.

Sculpted in Norfolk alongside their hand-built miniature puppet theatre by artist, writer and hedge bard Kizzy, The Roving Jewel seeks to return the subversive stories of our land to the commons.

The Roving Jewel is an oral storytelling project that uses the heritage craft of puppetry to connect with audiences and invite them to enjoy the rich history of British folktale and literature.

We are signatories of The Folk Union Charter, and as a queer, working class artist, Kizzy has built the Jewel with equity, accessibility and inclusion at the fore of her practise.

The Roving Jewel wants to help maintain a contemporary folk landscape that is free from bigotry and gatekeeping: folk that champions the overlooked and drives us towards a better future for us all.
